HAUTELUCE, A HIDDEN PARADISE

In the heart of Beaufortain, just 23km from Albertville and 7km from Les Saisies, a village, a valley and access to two ski areas.

Its impressive view of Mont Blanc , its many hamlets and their chapels, its alpine chalets ... make the Hauteluce valley one of the most beautiful and unspoiled in the Alps. In this natural setting reigns calm, charm, authenticity and conviviality. Skiing enthusiasts will also find their paradise here between the Espace Diamant (from the village, via the Col des Saisies ...) and the ski area of Contamines Montjoie (from Belleville, via the col du Joly ...).

Many accommodation providers (hotel, bed and breakfast, tourist residence, chalets, lodges and furnished apartments, etc.) and shops (restaurants, mini-market, equipment rental store, etc.) welcome you on site. Shuttles also allow you to travel through the valley to Saisies (winter and summer) or Belleville (winter only).

High place of Savoyard heritage, you can also discover a remarkable Baroque church, numerous chapels, old log chalets and mazots and visit the Ecomuseum. In the center of the village sits the tree of liberty, an extraordinary lime tree planted there during the French Revolution.

A village, a valley and two complementary ski areas of very high quality with a view of Mont-Blanc.

From the village of Hauteluce you have direct access to the Saisies area and the Espace Diamant and its 192 km of slopes via the Chozal chairlift . The return to the village is provided by the red track of the same name. For the less experienced, you can take the Jorets blue slope then the Chozal chairlift downhill or the free shuttles.

Another alpine ski area is open to you in the Hauteluce valley. Since Belleville (7 km from the village) you can reach the 120 km of slopes of Contamines Montjoie via the Col du Joly and the Ruelle cable car.

Between Beaufortain and Val d'Arly, Savoie and Haute-Savoie, the Espace Diamant has 192 km of routes of all levels between forests, mountain pastures and villages of character. At each summit, a majestic panorama: Mont-Blanc, Beaufortain massif, Aravis ...

Its 159 slopes connect 6 charming ski-in ski-out ski resorts: Les Saisies, Hauteluce, Notre Dame de Bellecombe, Crest-Voland / Cohennoz, Praz sur Arly and Flumet.
Thanks to its micro-climate and the proximity of Mont-Blanc, the Espace Diamant enjoys exceptional snow cover from December to the end of April.
The whole family, from beginners to experienced skiers, will be delighted by this large-scale area, but which has retained its convivial and family character.

The Diamond Area:

Located at the foot of Mont-Blanc, the Espace Diamant is above all a space of freedom designed to discover another way of skiing. Bringing together 6 Stations-Villages, Crest-Voland / Cohennoz, Flumet / Saint-Nicolas la Chapelle, Notre Dame de Bellecombe, Les Saisies / Hauteluce and Praz sur Arly, it offers fun trails of all levels between forests, mountain pastures and villages of character .

The Gates of Mont-Blanc:

The Portes du Mont Blanc area grouping La Giettaz / Le Jaillet (Megève) / Combloux / Cordon provides a link between Savoie and Haute Savoie. This area guarantees you an incredible journey between fir trees and mountain chalets, offering a wide variety of skiing. La Giettaz is a powder snow paradise; skiers thirsty for slopes and sensations will linger there with one of the most beautiful panoramas in the Alps at its summit, a breathtaking 360 °!

Closest to the ski area of Les Contamines and the Espace Diamant, than these resorts themselves, Chalet Very Joly lies at the top of the Hauteluce Valley, and has a handy free resort bus stopping metres from your door.

You will look forward to returning to your cosy, spacious and well-equipped chalet after each day on the mountains. Unpisted marked black run leads to our door from Espace Diamant, and the free return bus is a few minutes from the bottom of La ruelle piste of Les Contamines.

Being away from the populated resorts, it is for those who appreciate nature and space, rather than doorstep shops, although you can ski to these in Les Saisies and return via free resort bus with skis.

We provide extra refrigerator and freezer space, so that you can stock up on arrival, then just pick up fresh things en route home from your ski day.

Summer gives access to neighbourly farmers, or even the Beaufort Cooperative, 11km further down the valley, who can provide milk and cheese directly. Beaufort cheese and goats cheese are special to our area of the Hauteluce Valley. We seem to have our own private tennis court, which is a great facility, for Boules also, a fishing lake, a kiddy parcours, and evening relaxation at the barbeque site. We have balconies, a barbeque and a big dining table outside, so morning and evening sun can be enjoyed in the chalet grounds also.
