Check-in Saturday 16:00-20.00 / Check-Out Saturday by 10:00
Arosa is located at 1800 metres above sea level, 30 kilometres (20 miles) by road from Chur City, up to the end of the stunning Schanfig Valley.
Enter Arosa, turn left in front of the petrol station. Follow road towards Untersee. After the sharp right hand bend, continue 50 meters, take the first right turn opposite the Wetterweide bus shelter, and Chalet Runca is the second house on the right.
Chalet Runca is in a quiet residential area called Wetterweide in Arosa. It has footpaths & direct free bus leading to Arosa's main amenities (Shops, Open Air Ice Rink, Playground, Football, Cable Cars and Nightlife) within five minutes.

On behalf of helmut and I and the entire family, many thanks for such a wonderful holiday! Your chalet is lovely and homely and your hospitality and cooking even more wonderful! It was without a doubt the best ski holiday experience we have all had!
Arosa is great as a ski resort also and we were lucky to have such good snow conditions, but the chalet experience definitely made the holiday. And all that delicious food!
So a huge thank you from us all and we will definitely be returning one day! Wishing you all the best for the rest of the season and your new chalet in france.
Best wishes from alsace

“Wonderful holiday - again”
Reviewed January 8, 2012NEW
We spent a week in Chalet Runca in mid-December 2011. This was our second winter stay in the chalet and we have also spent a week in the chalet in the summer. Each holiday has been a huge success.
The chalet is very big - with 5 comfortable bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms. The owners, Mike and Helen, help to look after you perfectly. A huge bonus is the option of renting skis and boots directly from them as they have a wonderful extensive choice and Mike will ensure that they are fitted correctly. They cooked breakfast, made a cake for tea, and a three-course dinner at night. Bliss.
The chalet is a 2 minute walk from a bus stop, with a free bus running directly to the ski slopes, so it couldn't be easier. Plus, because Arosa is so high up, you are virtually guaranteed to have snow (as we did certainly this holiday!).
In the summer, it's a very easy self-catering option with plenty to do, in a typical Swiss summer kind-of-way - lots of walking, swimming in the lake etc.
All in all, Chalet Runca is highly recommended. It is big, very comfortable, and clean, and perfect for large gatherings of family or friends. We will certainly return again.

We have just returned from spending a week at Chalet Runca with all our children and partners from far flung corners of the globe. We had a marvellous time at Chalet Runca, looked after by Mike and Helen Onions and enjoying their wonderful meals (not forgetting cakes and tray bakes that were waiting for us on our return from the ski slopes when we were starving!) They were very willing to answer all our questions and help us in any way they could. The chalet was very warm and comfortable and felt like a real home-from-home. We would not hesitate to recommend the chalet to anyone who is thinking of visiting Arosa. The resort is snowsure (having been there twice, I can confirm that) and the slopes are quiet. There is plenty to do for those who don`t want to ski, with walking paths up to all the mountain restaurants, an ice rink, shops, cinema and sleigh rides which go through the woods, or can take you up to some of the mountain restaurants. Arosa is a resort for all ages.

Wonderful Chalet!
From the food to the ski rentals and everything in between, Helen and Mike did an incredible job during our stay! They were very hospitable and answered all our (many) questions about the area and gave some excellent recommendations. I would love to visit arosa again in the winter as the snow was fantastic! I just wished I could of stayed longer...

Fantastic week in Arosa
We had an absolutely wonderful week staying at Chalet Runca in Arosa. The apartment is very comfortable and well-appointed and has access to a lovely garden. Helen from Snowy pockets is delightful, and incredibly helpful. Arosa is a perfect resort for families, and the nearby Badi bathing lake was a highlight for all of us. Thanks Snowy Pockets for a fabulous holiday.

"Completely wonderful family holiday!"
This is an amazing family run chalet with the best child care which meant my husband and I could happily leave our twin 20 month old boys to have a fabulous time while we enjoyed all the great skiing and gorgeous restaurants. We also watched horse racing on the beautiful frozen lake at the centre of lovely arosa, sledged, sunbathed and generally had a marvellous time. The chalet is so comfortable and well equiped - the sauna and steam room are fab at the end of a long day skiing! The food was sensational with a different cake every afternoon and a special fuss made for my husband's birthday too which he loved.
Our party spanned the ages of toddler to OaP and we all loved it. Arosa has much to offer for the non skier and great pistes for those who do. Chalet Runca is conveniently located so one doesn't need to carry heavy skis far and we managed to ski all the way back. I completely recommend Helen, Mike and their gorgeous children to those who fancy a fantastically comfortable and convenient chalet in a lovely resort, wonderful food, brilliant ski instruction and as much or as little freedom from your children as you'd like! Can't wait to return.

So here's my own personal top 10 list (in no particular order):
Mike
Having a tame English ski instructor, who can point out the best runs and bars is fantastic
In house ski hire
My boots and skis were the best I've ever used - it helped me tackle a black run with something approaching a finesse that I couldn't have dreamt of 17 years ago.
A lovely chalet manager who knows Arosa from a parent's point of view and could give us great ideas on how to entertain our little monsters
Chalet Staff
The cooking was delicious and the chalet was spotlessly clean at all times.
Arosa
I loved the fact that it was not solely focussed on skiing - it was somewhere I could come back to time and time again.
Wine and the beer
Great choices and really helped to relax those tired muscles.
Sauna and Steam room
A real treat, very professional and luxurious.
The views from our windows
Just astonishing.
Sophie and Austin
Two charming children with a sense of mischief and real character...
Toboggans in the garage
I love tobogganing
Pratschli Stall bar
I hate the fact that I only had one beer in this wonderful bar I'm definitely coming back to have another beer or three here, and I haven't even mentioned the boot warmer - what a great idea...We'll see you soon

Great resort for a family ski (or summer) holiday. Lots to do apart from skiing. Fantastic sledging!
Free bus service all around town so you hop on a bus 20m from your doorstep and get off at the lift stations.
Chalet run by lovely English family. Meals were very good.
Steam room and sauna.

Great holiday in comfortable surroundings
Our group of 10 have much enjoyed 3 successive holidays at Chalet Runca. The chalet is large, well furnished and managed by Helen and Mike who cook and clean for us, so are on hand for any assistance. The chalet location is only a few paces from the ski bus stop and buses run at 20 min intervals throughout the day, getting you to a lift in 4/5 mins.
We have known arosa since first taking our kids there almost 30 years ago. It isn`t a large area but is ideal for families and intermediates and has extensive pretty walking areas for those who don`t ski.
Last year our children, now both married, returned the week after us and had a great time off piste skiing to Davos and Lenzerheide.
We particularly enjoy the mountain restaurants which are very good and are well located to attract walkers and skiers.

One of our valued guests review:
Our large party of 3 families (kids ranging in age from 4-14) were exceedingly well taken care of in all aspects. The chalet food was super delicious and plentiful, the hosts including owners and chalet girls were brilliant, the chalet itself was homely, inviting and very spacious and the location is easy (bus stop more or less outside the door). Helen and Mike can't do enough for you; they are really excellent hosts.
